I wish someone had told me that life is just a series of pendulum swings between pain and pleasure, and to just embrace the damn swings.
I had spent most of my life avoiding the pain at all costs. Yet as I avoided, I noticed pleasure was escaping me too. My pendulum was stuck in the middle. I couldn’t access pain or pleasure.
Over the past 3 years of self work, I’ve learned to embrace the pain because it frees up my capacity for pleasure.
And if you’re lucky, you’ll fill our tool box with practices to help you out of a pain valley or at least help you take comfort in just sitting in the pain with more ease.
This is what I do with my clients. We dont “fix” pain, we give it space, we give it the microphone, we listen to what it has to say, and then it becomes an integrated piece of our body minds. Once it’s integrated, the texture of the pain often changes. It becomes an empowered part of you.✨
